Due to continued growth and investment in new equipment, Guhring often has
openings in the following general areas:
General Manufacturing
Skilled machinists are needed to operate close tolerance grinding equipment for
our three-shift manufacturing facilities in Brookfield, Wisconsin and New
Hudson, Michigan. These facilities produce small quantity special order round
cutting tools using state-of-the-art multi-axis grinding machines designed and
built by Guhring oHG in Germany. Employees receive training on these
unique machines to provide our customers with the quality and performance
for which Guhring tools are known. The average seniority of our manufacturing
personnel is over 12 years, indicating that we successfully provide long-term
CAREERS at Guhring – not just routine production jobs. Preferred areas of
experience include cylindrical grinding (both O.D. and centerless) and grinding
complex point geometries using multi-axis CNC universal grinding equipment:
ANCA, Ewagmatic, Huffman, Rolomatic, Schutte, Star, Walter or other similar
brands.
Territory Sales Representatives / Account Managers
Guhring’s Territory Managers work closely with Distributors and key
manufacturing accounts to sell, service and support standard catalog and
engineered special cutting tool products. Our value proposition is to reduce
machining costs for our customers through the application of high performance
cutting tools. Ideal candidates will have a technical degree or machining
background, knowledge of metal cutting manufacturing processes with ability to
identify cost reduction opportunities in drilling, milling, and threading
applications. Previous experience selling metal cutting or related products is
preferred.
Design Engineering
Cutting Tool Design Engineers are typically assigned to specialize in one of
the company’s manufacturing divisions (High Speed Steel, Carbide, PCD/CBN or
OEM Development). Our Design Engineers have direct, daily contact with
Distributors and end-users as well as with Guhring sales and manufacturing
personnel. Product, process and applications knowledge is critical. Experienced
candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Production Management
Division Managers and Shift Supervisors are selected based on their
demonstrated ability to maximize workforce efficiency and productivity while at
the same time keeping a close eye on quality. Management positions require
detailed knowledge of close tolerance grinding processes with successful
experience in the selection, training and daily coaching of highly skilled
production workers. Preferred candidates will have a technical degree or
apprenticeship plus formal training in personnel management.
